Join us for the DC premier of The Big Banana, a compelling new film revealing the dirty secrets of the banana industry and human rights abuses in Cameroon. Banned in Cameroon, The Big Banana brilliantly exposes and deconstructs the adverse impact of Plantation du Haut Penja and corporatocracy government on the people. The film also features what some valiant local farmers are doing to take matters into their own hands.
A discussion led by film director Franck Bieleu will follow the screening.
Presented by Institute for Policy Studies, International Labor Rights Forum, TransAfrica Forum, and the Center for Food Safety.
A suggested donation of $5 but no one will be turned away for lack of funds.
