Gov. Ed Rendell signed a resolution to join a consortium of states against sweatshops and cruel working conditions around the world. The group includes Pennsylvania, Maine and New Jersey and will reward responsible companies and industries that do not employ controversial tactics, identify and implement fair management practices and develop a means to monitor steps taken towards this goal.
