Portland, OR — If a coalition of 45 Portland unions, churches, and political parties can persuade the city's commissioners, Portland will no longer buy materials from businesses identified as sweatshops.
From the popular point of view, a sweatshop is a work place that uses some or all of the following practices: forced labor, child labor, and exposing workers to poisons or physical abuse.
