If you are interested in learning more about living wages, sustainable business practices and union-made products, this is a great opportunity to hear first hand from the workers themselves (Skype) and hear from activists and organizations working together to help create opportunities for economically and socially marginalized producers.
Panelists:
Workers from the Sitralpro union at Alta Gracia Maritza Vargas and Yenny Perez will share the impact that living wages have in their community and the positive difference having a voice at work through a union has made in workers' lives.
Workers Rights Consortium www.workersrights.org [1] Theresa Haas will discuss the WRC's 10 year precedent as an independent labor rights watchdog in university supply chains and their unique relationship communicating with workers at the Alta Gracia factory.

Teresa Cheng from USAS will discuss the efforts students took that inspired the formation of Alta Gracia and will share their efforts to support Alta Gracia on their college campuses and educate in their community.
