Bangladesh to the Bay: Action for Walmart Workers, Party for Justice
Event ends: May 29, 2013 7:00 pm
From San Francisco Jobs with Justice:
Give a big send-off to Walmart workers in the Bay who going to join workers across the country in an action at corporate headquarters.
It's also time to prevent any more deaths of Walmart supply chain workers. Recent documents show Walmart made clothes at Rana Plaza, the factory building that collapsed, killing more than 1100 workers. Walmart, like GAP, has not signed the Bangladeshi factory safety agreement.
We'll start our action at 5pm at a Walmart director's $5 million penthouse & march to the GAP flagship store.
Then keep our movement going strong from 6pm-7:30pm with DJ Sake One (((Local 1200))), Power Struggle and Walmart leader Dominic Ware throwing down rhymes!!
Food and drink by PODER, MacArthur Garage Brewery and Justice Grace Vineyards. Non-alcoholic drinks also available.
An average Walmart worker just in the US would have to work 785 years to make what the Walmart CEO gets in a year. Justice can happen sooner.
Join us on May 29th.
