Demands of King's Land workers
1. Recognize C.CAWDU as a legitimate representative of its members in the company.
2. Commit to a collective bargaining agreement at the earliest possibility which will include a binding arbitration procedure and a commitment to no strikes or lockouts.
3. Reinstate the seventeen members of C.CAWDU that were unjustly fired and pay back earnings since the date of their termination
4. Implement all the decisions of the Arbitration Council reached on October 24, 2007, October 27, 2007, October 30, 2007, November 16, 2007, which includes things such as the employer giving one day notice if no work is available the next day and also pay 50% of wages for that day.
5. Terminate all legal action currently underway against C.CAWDU.
6. Commit to back pay for all workers on strike since January 11, 2008 and also provide a position for all those on strike once the strike is over.
7. Pay for all medical costs already incurred by ten workers who were injured at the factory gates on February 6, 2008, including those struck by company vehicle registration number 4419 PP2 and 2D 3882 and will arrange further medical checks and meet all medical expenses and loss of earnings until the workers have fully recovered:
8. Ensure that there is no discrimination against any trade union members.
9. Develop a training program for C.CAWDU members on their rights and responsibilities, and training for all on good industrial relations practice including the need for mutual respect, dialogue and the handling of disputes and grievances and production issues such as piece work, targets, etc.
